How long to brush your teeth?

Most ask the question “How long do I brush my teeth?” At the same time if you ask them back ” How long do they usually brush their teeth?” they do not know and can not give you an answer.

Research has shown that brushing your teeth should take about two to three minutes to be of any help. Current surveys show that the average time taken by most people to brush their teeth is around 30 seconds only.

So if your brushing takes less than 2-3 minutes, you’re missing out — and almost certainly speeding it and not giving it enough time.

You need to divide your mouth into four quarters and brush each quarter for 30 seconds at least. Brush twice a day, preferably right after you eat. Three times a day would be even better. Why not keep a toothbrush with you at work?

For best results, you must brush for 2-3 minutes using a soft tooth brush or an electric tooth brush using the proper brushing technique. Also do not forget to floss.

Remember always, 2-3 brushes a day, two to three minutes at a time — that totals a whole six to nine minutes out of your day. You don’t have any teeth to spare, so you might as well spare the time.
